PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The HSE Assistant plays a key role maintaining, supporting and consulting with both management and employees. Under the direction of the HSE Manager, this role is responsible for various administrative and training duties for manufacturing facility. All duties will be performed within the objectives, standards and policies of Cambodian laws and regulations and within the scope of his/her practice. He/she helps to ensure a safe working environment that complies with Cambodian OHS and International Standards. The primary emphasis is on prevention and promote safety and wellness of associate and workplace, because prevention is the best medicine.

Responsibilities

· Identify potential risk/hazards and to find ways to prevent, eliminate, minimize, or reduce risk/hazards.
· Contribute to ensuring that the organization meets all health and safety legislation objectives and that appropriate risk mitigation/control measures are in place
· Carry out the training programs to promote workplace health and safety
· Perform field audits of Permit to Work, hot work and job site activities
· Assist with investigating incidents and accidents to ensure the timely production of corrective and preventative action plans
· Provide advice, guidance and support to the organization with regards to health and safety legislation, issues and compliance together with all applicable organization policies and practices, referring to Line Manager as appropriate
· Maintain and evaluate environmental records and documentation
· Assist in forms completion with the contractor/visitor in line with organization procedures, to prevent HSE from potential damage. (e.g., permit to work, hot work, scaffolding use etc.)
· Manage specialized PPE for certain types of work with various vendors
