Position Summary
The Head Teacher of English will lead the English department in ensuring high-quality teaching and learning standards. This role involves supervising teachers, supporting curriculum implementation, conducting professional development, and maintaining academic excellence aligned with Wudao Academy’s mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Management
1. Academic Leadership
o Oversee lesson delivery and ensure alignment with the school’s English curriculum and teaching standards.
o Provide academic guidance, mentoring, and classroom support for English teachers.
o Review and improve teaching materials, assessments, and homework design.
2. Teacher Development
o Conduct regular classroom observations and feedback sessions.
o Organize professional training, workshops, or peer-learning sessions.
o Support teachers in integrating innovative methodologies (e.g., CLIL, STEAM, SEL, CEFR-based learning).
3. Curriculum and Assessment
o Coordinate curriculum planning for all levels.
o Review student progress and recommend academic interventions when needed.
o Ensure consistent assessment practices and fair grading across classes.
4. Communication and Coordination
o Report directly to the Academic Manager or School Director.
o Liaise with parents and guardians on students’ academic progress when required.
o Participate in departmental meetings and school-wide events.
B. Operational Management
• Coordinate daily class operations, attendance, and academic timetables.
• Ensure classrooms are well-prepared, organized, and conducive to learning.
• Monitor teacher punctuality, student discipline, and learning outcomes.
• Liaise with the Academic Manager and Operations Officer to ensure smooth class flow.
• Prepare weekly academic reports and teacher evaluation summaries.
• Support student placement testing and progress evaluations.
C. Marketing and Public Relations
• Represent Wudao Academy during school events, open houses, and demo classes.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to showcase classroom activities and success stories.
• Assist in social media campaigns, video recordings, or promotional teaching clips.
• Provide feedback and ideas for marketing materials related to the English program.
• Build rapport with parents and maintain good communication regarding students’ progress.
• Help organize public workshops, English contests, or community outreach events to enhance the school’s visibility.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, TESOL, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of English teaching experience.
• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with modern teaching approaches and classroom technology.
